Incorporated on November 8, 2004, China Shenhua Energy Company Limited (“China Shenhua” for short), a flagship subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation, was dual-listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange after initial public offering (IPO) on June 15, 2005 and October 9, 2007, respectively. As of December 31, 2022, China Shenhua had total assets of 621.7 billion Yuan, a market capitalization of523.5 billion Yuan with 83,000 employees.
China Shenhua is a globally-leading integrated coal-based energy company, mainly engaging in seven business segments, namely coal, electricity, new energy, coal-to-chemicals, railway, port handling, and shipping. It was in the front rank in the world on Platts’ 2022 Top 250 Global Energy Companies list. In 2022, it ranked 36th among top 500 Chinese companies by Fortune Magazine, taking the lead among listed coal companies.
