Incorporated on November 8, 2004, China Shenhua Energy Company Limited ("China Shenhua" for short), a subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation Co., Ltd. ("CHN Energy" for short), was dual-listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE) and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) on June 15, 2005 and October 9, 2007, respectively. The Company has maintained a Grade A rating in SSE's information disclosure evaluation for 12 consecutive years. As of the end of 2025, China Shenhua had total assets of RMB 627.8 billion, a total market value of RMB 786.3 billion and a workforce of 91,000 employees.

Coal: China Shenhua has an approved production capacity of 570 million tonnes, and has built the 10-million-tonne coal mine cluster and China's first 200-million-tonne coal production base. The Company has reached a world-leading level in production, technology, quality, energy consumption and environmental protection. China Shenhua is actively building demonstration smart mines and promoting the R&D of core technologies such as the intelligent integrated application platform, and has successfully implemented the first "BIM + BeiDou" smart infrastructure management system in China's coal infrastructure sector. China Shenhua's autonomous driving system for extra-large open-pit coal mines was recognized as one of the Top Ten Sci-tech Innovations of China Energy Industry in 2025. The Company continues to develop green mines, leading the nation in green mining capacity, and has been conferred the title of Excellent Coal Producer in Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction by China National Coal Association for several consecutive years.
Electricity: China Shenhua owns power plants with total installed capacity of 72.34 GW in operation, of which 66.99 GW are coal-fired, 2.19 GW are gas-fired, 78 MW are hydraulic and 3,082 MW are of the new energy. The Company successfully developed China's first unattended operation system for coal-fired generating units. The 630 MW ammonia co-firing coal-fired power generation technology was selected into Top Ten Sci-tech Innovations of China Energy Industry in 2024. To accelerate the new energy development, the Company has participated in co-establishing the Beijing Guoneng New Energy Industrial Investment Fund and the Beijing Guoneng Green and Low-carbon Development Investment Fund, spurring the launch of wind and PV power projects with total capacity of nearly 6.8 GW. China Shenhua has been proactively and prudently promoting overseas business, and its low-emission coal-fired power projects in Indonesia have become a model and benchmark among Chinese companies seeking to "go global."
Coal-to-chemicals: As a pioneer, forerunner, and leader in the modern coal chemical industry, China Shenhua has an annual production capacity of 1.26 million tonnes for coal-to-oil, 1.88 million tonnes for coal-to-olefins, and 300,000 tonnes for coal-to-ethylene glycol. The Company has successfully constructed and operated a series of demonstration projects, including the world's only million-tonne-scale direct coal liquefaction demonstration project, the world's first 600,000-tonne-per-annum coal-to-olefins demonstration project, the world's first 350,000-tonne-per-annum coal liquefaction asphalt residue extraction demonstration unit, and the world's first coal-to-polyglycolic acid biodegradable material demonstration project. Through these efforts, the Company has mastered a portfolio of core technologies in the coal-to-chemicals sector, forging an innovative pathway for the comprehensive utilization and clean, efficient conversion of coal.
Railway: China Shenhua's 2,408-kilometer integrated railway network accommodates over 800 locomotives and over 50,000 self-owned wagons, making the Company the second largest rail operator in China with an annual transportation capacity of 560 million tonnes. The Dongyue Railway project has been included in the national list of major construction projects. The Company has successfully conducted the world's first 35,000-tonne heavy-haul group train test, built China's first intelligent dedicated maintenance line and successfully finished the commissioning of China's first large-power hydrogen-driven shunting locomotive. China's first new intelligent heavy-haul electric locomotives initiatively developed by the Company was recognized as the 2024 Top Ten National Grand Equipment of Central Enterprises. Its smart "3+0" locomotives pulling the 10,000-tonne heavy-haul train filled the gap in China.
Port: China Shenhua owns three coal ports (terminals), including Huanghua Port, Tianjin Coal Terminal and Zhuhai Port, with a combined annual handling capacity of 270 million tonnes. Huanghua Port is an important hub port for China's coal transportation from west to east and from north to south. It has maintained the highest throughput among all coal ports in China for seven consecutive years. In addition, its sophisticated technologies in dust-suppression and intelligent control of ship-loading are second to none in China. It has been awarded the title of five-star China Green Port, and won APSN Green Port Award and Chinese Environment Award.
Shipping: China Shenhua owns 65 cargo vessels, with a total deadweight capacity of 3.67 million tonnes and an annual shipping capacity of 85 million tonnes. All of its self-owned ships can connect to the shore power facilities. It operates shipping routes covering China's major coastal and riverine ports including Huanghua Port, Tianjin Port and Qinhuangdao Port. China Shenhua is one of the largest shipping companies in China measured by fleet size and profitability.
