Recently, Indonesia Java Company held an open day event, inviting faculty and students from the Universitas Indonesia and other guests to visit the Company. Through an in-depth tour and exchanges, the event comprehensively showcased the positive image of China Shenhua’s overseas enterprise in fulfilling corporate social responsibilities, further enhancing the brand reputation of Chinese companies abroad.

The delegation conducted a field inspection of the Java Power Plant’s simulator training center, central control room, turbine hall, ecological aquarium, and mangrove conservation base, engaging in in-depth discussions on the contributions of Chinese energy enterprises to Indonesia.

Dr. Baskoro from the Universitas Indonesia expressed that he was deeply impressed by the Java Power Plant’s proactive measures in ecological restoration, particularly the implementation of the mangrove conservation project. He noted that it fully demonstrates a sound balance between industrial development and environmental responsibility, showcasing how large-scale energy projects can coexist with nature-based solutions, thereby enhancing ecosystem resilience and improving community well-being. During the tour, he also observed many instances of collaboration between Chinese and Indonesian employees. He mentioned that the company not only focuses on hardware construction but also emphasizes the knowledge and skill level—i.e., the cultivation of employees’ skills and knowledge. Furthermore, he highlighted the spiritual and humanistic aspect—the emotional exchange and mutual understanding between Chinese and Indonesian staff. This heart-to-heart connection fosters teamwork and reflects genuine friendship, contributing to the consolidation of friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

“For me, it is fascinating to see such a large-scale power plant coexisting with a beautiful environment.” said Angie, a visiting student from the Universitas Indonesia. He added that what impressed him most was the very clean and green energy production methods. From the layout of operational areas to the various facilities used by employees, everything is well-equipped, including staff dormitories, canteens, and sports facilities. These efficient machines reduce air, water, and soil pollution.

Another student, Amelia, remarked, “I believe clean energy is environmentally friendly energy, with emissions as low as possible and minimal environmental pollution. Moreover, the plant also showcases a system for recycling water resources, ensuring no wastewater is discharged externally. The treated water quality was well demonstrated during the tour, with aquariums displaying various fish species, indicating that the treated water is clean and ecologically suitable.”

Following the discussions, the delegation participated in a dumpling-making activity, personally experiencing the charm of Chinese culinary culture.

This open day event not only fully demonstrated the responsible image and high-standard operations of Chinese energy enterprises overseas to local Indonesian experts but also powerfully conveyed the profound value generated by China-Indonesia energy cooperation, injecting new vitality into the sustained development of bilateral relations.
