Recently, the Power Science Popularization Education Base of Sichuan Tianming Power Generation Co., Ltd. was recognized by the Sichuan Society for Electrical Engineering to serve as the first thermal power-themed science popularization education base in the southwestern region. The demonstration period is slated from 2024 to 2028.
The Company has been committed to improving its science popularization capability by innovating science popularization carriers through relevant scientific research platforms and sites, contributing to democratizing electric power knowledge. The Power Science Popularization Education Base comprehensively showcases the exclusive and advantageous physical resources and facilities of power production enterprises, including facilities related to thermal power generation and supporting equipment, operation simulation rooms, VR safety experience halls, sand table model exhibition halls, “Internet +” training rooms, and CNAS laboratories. Through the integration of projection interaction, AR technology, and modern audio-visual multimedia technology, the Base is able to introduce the production processes as well as knowledge regarding safety, energy efficiency, and environmental protection of the coal-fired power plant to the public. The Base highlights professionalism, knowledge, interestingness, and participation by tailoring science popularization plans for the government, associations, peers in energy and power industry, communities, as well as students of various stages (from primary school to university), in addition to telling compelling stories about central state-owned enterprises and demonstrating their commitment to serving the people as well as unremitting efforts to take social responsibility. Since the initiation of the application for the Power Science Popularization Education Base earlier this year, the Company has successfully navigated through procedures such as submitting application documents and materials, organizing on-site expert evaluations, and public announcements. Eventually, the Company achieved the goals as scheduled and passed the assessment by the Sichuan Society for Electrical Engineering.
