Shendong Mining Service Co., Ltd. recently joined hands with Shangwan Coal Mine Community in Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to launch a campaign under the theme “Learning from Lei Feng and Pioneering in Volunteering” to organize members of the Communist Youth League of China to offer volunteer services in Shangwan Primary School and Shangwan Community.
During the activity, volunteers brought schoolbags, stationery, books and other items to 30 students from economically disadvantaged families at Shangwan Primary School, encouraging the children to overcome difficulties, study hard, take responsibility for themselves and their families, and win glory for the class and school.
“Today I am very happy that so many people come to help us,” said Yu Xuelian, a student at Shangwan Primary School. “I will study hard in the future to fulfill my dreams and repay the motherland.”
Three electricians and one plumber from the company also helped low-income households, empty nesters, and disabled residents in Shangwan Community repair more than 50 broken home appliances, including meat grinders, electric pots, and electric kettles.
