Baoshen Railway made full use of its advantages in smart driving and further tapped into its potential in increasing transportation capacity. As of November 21, its 1,753 trains with a loading capacity of 10,000 tons had travelled more than 400,000 km.
The trains boast a smart driving system integrating intelligent video recognition, long-distance radar detection, BeiDou navigation, automatic collection of meteorological data and intelligent frequency conversion among other cutting-edge technologies. Automatic locomotives wake-up, coupling, departure, running and parking can be realized based on the dispatch plan.
Since its launch on the Shenshuo Railway line on October 16, 2019, the smart driving system has accumulated a large amount of operation and testing data, which greatly improved the transportation efficiency of the locomotives, lowered transportation costs, and provided reliable reference data and successful model for future large-scale application of smart driving technology.
