China's Most Powerful Permanent Magnet Variable-frequency Semi-direct Drive Scraper Conveyor Was Put into Operation in Shendong

Recently, the first set of 3×1.6MW permanent magnet variable-frequency semi-direct drive scraper conveyor of Shendong Coal completed installation and commissioning at the 52514 working face of Daliuta Coal Mine. As the first industrial application of the largest power and technologically advanced equipment of its kind in China, this marked a major breakthrough in three-machine drive technology for longwall mining faces, setting a new benchmark for intelligent, efficient and green mining across the coal industry.

Modeled SGZ1400/4800, the conveyor features a trough width of 2050 millimeters and a total installed power of 3×1.6MW. It adopts 1.6MW integrated permanent magnet semi-direct drive frequency conversion units for direct drive, removes torque limit friction devices and elastic couplings and greatly simplifies the whole transmission chain, achieving key breakthroughs in core technologies.

Compared with conventional scraper conveyors, this equipment boasts compact structure, small size, light weight and larger safety maintenance space. Meanwhile, it cuts down transmission links and fault points to raise power transmission efficiency and lower maintenance costs. The vertical layout of drive components also reduces the number of end supports from three to two, slashing procurement expenditure, expanding operating space and enhancing operational safety and working efficiency simultaneously.

During the research and application, Shendong offered full support including technical verification, scheme optimization and on-site service. Its professional management capacity facilitated the smooth implementation of new technologies and laid a solid foundation for the accelerated upgrading of longwall mining drive systems towards integration, miniaturization, high efficiency and intelligence.
