The capacity expansion project at Hanjialou Station, a key component of the 300-million-ton capacity expansion initiative for Baoshen Railway’s Shenshuo Company, has been recently completed. This milestone marks a new stage in enhancing the transport capacity of the core West-to-East Coal Transport artery, injecting strong momentum into national energy security.

Located in the heart of the energy-rich Shaanxi-Shanxi-Inner Mongolia region, Hanjialou Station is a critical transportation node connecting multiple areas via the Shenshuo Railway. Previously, its aging facilities had become a bottleneck restricting capacity growth. The renovation project focused on “removing bottlenecks and enabling intelligence”. While ensuring normal train passage, workers utilized designated “maintenance windows” to complete tasks including 11 sets of turnout upgrades, track extension, and signaling system improvements. The existing three-aspect automatic block system was upgraded to a four-aspect system, and operational procedures were optimized. More than 260 construction personnel efficiently executed the replacement within a 240-minute track blockade, achieving zero-fault commissioning.

As a vital part of the 300-million-tonne capacity expansion, the station’s opening resolves a critical “middle bottleneck”, equipping it with regular operation capabilities for 10,000-tonne and 20,000-tonne heavy-haul trains. It will generate synergistic effects with other stations like Xinchengchuan and Nanpodi, propelling the Shenshuo Railway toward its annual transport target of 300 million tonnes and providing more robust support for energy supply in North China, Central China, and the southeastern coastal regions.
