On September 27, Baoshen Railway Group celebrated the 40th anniversary of its establishment and development. With an “iron responsibility, iron will, iron unity, and iron discipline”, the Group has forged a 1,228-kilometer energy transport artery, delivering a cumulative total of 5.8 billion tonnes of coal across the country.
Over the past four decades, the Group has achieved a leap in transport capacity. From handling 685,000 tonnes in its inaugural year of 1989, its annual volume surpassed 305 million tonnes by 2020, marking transformative growth. Since then, annual transport volume has consistently exceeded 300 million tonnes, making significant contributions to national energy supply security. Technological innovation has advanced steadily. In 2024, the Group officially launched an intelligent driving system for heavy-haul railways, and its Research on the Application of Automatic Detection and Monitoring Technology for Key Train Equipment in Heavy-haul Railway Stations project was recognized as a Class A Major Scientific and Technological Achievement by China State Railway Group. In 2025, the demonstration project of the “grid, generation, storage, and locomotives” coordinated power supply system was completed, advancing the Smart Baoshen initiative to new heights. Long-term safe production has been maintained, and comprehensive reforms under the Double Hundred Action have yielded notable results. Corporate governance has become increasingly standardized, while major projects such as capacity expansion, the Dongyue Railway, and the Guyin Railway have progressed steadily. The Group has continuously promoted the “Healthy Baoshen” and “Happy Baoshen” initiatives, improving employee welfare programs and enhancing staff’s sense of satisfaction, well-being, and belonging.
Looking ahead, the Group will firmly focus on sustainable growth and high-quality development as primary tasks. It will continue to refine its 1531+N comprehensive transport development layout, accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and unite and lead the workforce in carrying forward the Iron Army spirit. It will strive to build a world-class, multifunctional, comprehensive, and modern heavy-haul railway logistics corridor.
