As of May 3, Baoshen Railway’s cumulative annual freight volume has surpassed 100 million tonnes, up to 100.353 million tonnes, continuing to ensure stable energy supplies.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Company has fully leveraged its strategic advantage as an energy supply corridor, targeting maximum transportation capacity on the Baotou-Shenmu South Line and Shenmu-Shuozhou Line by enhancing transfer capacity at boundaries to fully operate 10,000-tonne trains, and optimizing transportation organization strategies under high-density construction conditions to balance construction and transportation, thus increasing freight volume and revenue. By guaranteeing the transportation capacity of the main corridor of Baotou-Shenmu Line and Shenmu-Shuozhou Line, the Company closely monitors coal market prices, keeps track of coal resources from Shanxi Province, Shaanxi Province, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and strengthens coordination mechanisms to optimize station loading sequences. By dynamically and finely adjusting vehicle flows, the Company ensures the smooth implementation of integrated loading plans and train operations. By adopting targeted railway freight marketing strategies, Baoshen Railway engages with local customers, negotiating the fidelity terms of guaranteeing the stable transportation volume and favorable prices to attract more railway transportation. The freight rates will be classified according to the customers’ transportation plan, and some charging standards will be reduced to increase customers’ willingness to transport cargos by train instead of truck, effectively promoting the transportation volume from Ganqimaodu-Wanshuiquan Line to Wanshuiquankou Station of Baotou-Shenmu North Line.
Furthermore, the Company has launched activities to improve the quality and efficiency of transportation & organization, and tap into the potential and increase efficiency internally. By taking flexible locomotive pooling methods, optimizing train formation, smoothing empty-load & full-load transitions, and making efficient use of locomotives and vehicles, the Company focuses on tapping potential and improving quality, and controlling costs while seeking efficiency to ensure the improvement of transportation efficiency and benefits. Through off-peak low-cost transportation opportunities in the integrated South Line, the Company coordinates an increase in thermal coal and non-coal transportation, flexibly adjusts short-distance vehicles to maximize non-coal plans, significantly increasing thermal coal and big logistics volume.
