The Diarthrodial Robotic Arm independently developed by Shendong Coal has been granted a national invention patent by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, providing a safer, more intelligent and more reliable technical solution for bulk breaking operations in underground coal mines.

Focusing on industrial-wide challenges such as frequent blockages and reduced cutting efficiency in large-height longwall mining faces, the innovation addresses the difficulty of installing high-power gangue-breaking devices in confined spaces, enabling safe, precise and efficient operations.

In terms of safety and reliability, the equipment features dual braking through the coordination of wet brakes and hydraulic locks. The system locked synchronously once the oil circuit closed and achieved stable hovering at any position, eliminating risks of unexpected downward movement at the source. Internal wiring and high-performance floating seals provided all-around protection for oil circuits and joints, greatly enhancing anti-pollution capacities and achieving long-term lubrication-free and nearly maintenance-free operation.

In terms of performance and intelligence, the design abandoned the traditional oil cylinder lever structure and adopted an innovative high-precision motor reducer drive for stable operation and constant strong torque. Equipped with a built-in rotary encoder, the system realized closed-loop servo control and supported accurate one-button retraction and positioning, greatly improving control accuracy.

This patent successfully resolved longstanding pains of traditional bulk breaking equipment, such as high safety risks, frequent maintenance and poor positioning accuracy, further enhancing the technology of intelligent mining equipment at Shendong Coal and supporting efficient and safe operations in mines.
