Lately, Shendong Coal Washing and Dressing Center under China Energy Investment Corporation received a certificate of honor from the China Association for Quality as its project “Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-quality and Intelligent Loading Based on Laser Positioning, Microwave Radar and Linear Control Algorithm” won the China Quality Technology Award.
The project, independently designed and developed by technicians from the center, has earned invention patent. Using technologies for low-speed precise detection and coal loading control and adjustment as well as data concerning train loading, the researchers studied coal categories, granularity and viscosity as well as shutter operations and chute motions, developed the algorithm for precise control to adapt to the changes of train speeds, and figured out the law of mapping between loading links and loading data. The research results help to reduce the rate of railway accidents caused by uneven loading, overloading and unbalanced loading due to the changes of coal categories and manual loading operations, which have been applied in the Shangwan and Yujialiang coal dressing plants.
