Recently, the Shenhua 563, carrying 47,000 tonnes of bauxite, completed loading at Qingdao Port and safely berthed at the general cargo terminal of Port Company’s Huanghua Port, where all unloading operations were successfully carried out. This marks the official addition of Qingdao Port as a new node for China Shenhua’s North-to-South Coal Transportation, South-to-North Mineral Return Shipping dual-direction transport service, providing significant support for the development of the Company’s modern logistics system.
This transport operation demonstrated precise execution and seamless coordination. On August 2, the vessel arrived at Huanghua Port’s general cargo terminal from Qingdao Port with 47,000 tonnes of bauxite and completed unloading. On August 3, the vessel was directly shifted to the coal terminal for coal loading. On August 4, it departed fully loaded. The entire process achieved seamless “berth-on-arrival and load-upon-unloading” coordination, significantly reducing non-productive berthing time and effectively improving vessel turnaround efficiency and port throughput capacity.
The successful addition of the Qingdao Port node is a demonstration of the effective cross-sector collaborative mechanism at work. The Trading Group and E-commerce Company leveraged their advantages to precisely align with cargo sourcing requirements and provide robust service support. The Shipping Company and Huanghua Port, focusing on operational delivery, meticulously optimized vessel scheduling plans and refined the full-chain control measures for cargo consolidation and loading. All parties closely monitored key links including vessel schedules, production dispatch, and on-site loading and unloading, established information sharing and real-time response mechanisms, precisely matched vessel and cargo demand, and created a responsive and efficient closed-loop transport system. This holistic operating model effectively addressed the empty backhaul waste inherent in traditional one-way transport, achieving minimized logistics costs and maximized operational efficiency.
As a vital hub in the CHN Energy’s energy transport corridor, Huanghua Port actively collaborates with affiliated entities within the CHN Energy to further deepen the “dual-direction full-load” transport network and steadily expand new port nodes and routes along the coast and major rivers. By optimizing the logistics network, the multimodal transport service capacity has been enhanced. Moreover, efforts have been made to grow non-coal businesses, thus promoting quality improvement and capacity expansion in the logistics sector.
