Recently, the connection of Shendong Coal’s first 6.3-meter-high gob-side roadway retaining working face, the 22523 longwall mining face of Halagou Coal Mine, has been completed efficiently with high quality. The accumulated length of the gob-side retained roadway reaches 3,624 meters, bringing an additional production of 310,000 tonnes of coal.
As the company's first gob-side roadway retaining working face with 6.3-meter mining height, the mining process presented a series of challenges regarding production technologies. To ensure the smooth progress of the gob-side roadway retaining, Halagou Coal Mine conducted scientific research and comprehensive deployment. Production technology supervisors and core team members were dispatched to visit other mines for on-site inspections to draw from their experiences and practices. Meanwhile, experts specializing in gob-side roadway retaining were invited to provide guidance on the theory and construction process of pillar-free mining, offer feasibility opinions on the application of new equipment and technique, and formulate specific safety measures on on-site conditions, ensuring the steady advancement of the gob-side roadway retaining with large mining height.
The successful connection of this working face not only contributes to safety, economic, and social benefits, but also serves as a tangible step in promoting the safe, efficient, green, low-carbon, intelligent, and sustainable development of the mine.
