On September 17, the first batch of new-generation green, intelligent “Guoneng” KM81 coal hopper cars, jointly developed by China Energy Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. and CRRC over the past four years, was completed and delivered, which would enhance the high-quality transportation capacity of the national west-to-east coal transportation strategic corridor.
This hopper car series features intelligence, environmental protection, light weight, heavy load, and high efficiency, and boasts world-leading technologies. It integrates the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, wireless air-brake system, and dust-proof, eco-friendly movable cover made of composite materials. It can not only shelter residents along the railway line from the impact of dust, but also save the huge cost caused by the use of traditional sprayable dust suppressants. This type is China's first 25-tonne lightweight-axle self-loading coal hopper car integrating new intelligent technologies.
The completion and delivery of the “Guoneng” KM81 coal hopper car series marked that China's heavy-haul railway coal transportation has entered a new mode that is intelligent, safe, green, and efficient.
