China’s first railroad transportation management and control integrated service platform based on big data application was recently put into trial operation on Shuohuan Railway. Operation of the platform fills the domestic gap in the comprehensive application of railroad transportation data and facilitates the formation of a complete data chain throughout the railroad transportation business, providing strong technical support for digital transformation and intelligent development of the railway industry.
On the basis of integrating the core data related to railway scheduling, video monitoring, and personnel positioning systems and breaking through the boundary of disciplines, the platform focuses on production safety and uses information-based methods to improve transportation scheduling and command, construction safety management, and coordinated scheduling of locomotives and trains. Through comprehensive use of real-time information on locomotive and train scheduling, cargo transportation, and station construction and monitoring, the platform achieves integrated management of rail transport operations of China Energy.
The trial operation of the platform allows for 30-plus functions such as panoramic monitoring of trains, automatic statistics of traffic volume, positioning of key trains, dynamic pre-confirmation report, construction information sharing, on-site personnel tracking, and comprehensive supervision on the Shuohuang Railway, while significantly improving the efficiency of end-of-train operation monitoring, railway station duty desk protection, construction safety supervision, locomotive maintenance, and freight transport inquiry. Thus, on-site train operation can be monitored 24 hours a day.
