In the 2022 Fortune China 500 list released on July 12, China Shenhua ranked 36th, with an operation revenue of 335.216 billion yuan, up 12 places from the previous year, taking the lead among listed coal companies.
As an integrated coal-based energy company, China Shenhua mainly engages in the business segments of coal, electricity, coal-to-chemicals, railway, port handling, shipping, and new energy. The strengths of cross-sector and cross-industry integrated development and operation are constantly cemented. As of the end of 2021, China Shenhua had total assets of 607.1 billion yuan, with an annual net profit attributable to shareholders of 50.27 billion yuan, and basic earnings per share of 2.53 yuan.
In 2021, China Shenhua leveraged its strengths in resources, scale and integrated operation, making every effort to ramp up integration of resources and transportation scheduling, ensuring the heating supply and people’s livelihood. The coal output and sales volume achieved 310 million tons and 480 million tons, a YoY increase of 5.3% and 8.0%, respectively; and the power generation was 166.45 billion kWh, a YoY increase of 22.1%.
The list, compiled by Fortune China and CICC Wealth Management, takes into account the performance and achievements of Chinese listed companies over the past year.
