On June 9, the first batch of domestic commercialized HXN6 hybrid locomotives officially run in Baoshen Railway.
The HXN6 diesel-electric hybrid locomotive, a new energy product, responds to the strategic goals of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". The locomotive is powered jointly by "battery pack + diesel generator", with battery pack being default power choice, making it economical, energy-saving and environmental friendly.
Compared with conventional diesel locomotives, this hybrid locomotive is equipped with the world's leading energy-saving and environmental protection technologies. A single locomotive can reduce fuel consumption by 30-40%, pollutant emission by 3-5 tonnes and carbon emission by 280.5-467.5 tonnes per year. The locomotive has a towing capacity of more than 10,000 tonnes, which can fully meet the needs of Baoshen Railway's marshalling and short-distance transport requirements.
