China Ports & Harbors Association announced on October 20 that the project “Construction and Application of Smart and Environmentally-Friendly Green Coal Port” submitted by Huanghua Port won the 2021 Science and Technology Progress Award of China Ports & Harbors Association.
This technological achievement demonstrates that Huanghua Port has realized “zero discharge” of coal-bearing sewage by building a mathematical model of rainwater runoff and implementing a smart drainage strategy on the basis of the established ecological water recycling system of “two lakes and three wetlands”, the coal pollution control system, and the centralized water control system. Targeted dust control is carried out by formulating treatment measures in all links of coal dumping, stacking, reclaiming, and loading and forming a smart dust suppression system in the whole process of coal port. A complete set of technical plans for intelligent, environmental-friendly and green development of coal ports in the new era is taking shape through independent research and development of dust monitoring and ecological environment intelligence monitoring system in the port area and construction of the coastal green landscape belt and the ecological fruit and vegetable base, thus solving the problems that have long plagued its development of a green coal port.
