On April 17, Shendong Coal held the 2026 voluntary tree-planting activity themed Fulfill Tree-planting Obligations and Build a Beautiful China at Halagou Ecological Demonstration Base. About 1,500 participants, including Shendong staff, staff from Daliuta Town authorities and local institutions, as well as teachers and students from Shenmu Experimental Middle School, took part in the event. Enterprise and local participants jointly planted trees and beautified the ecological landscape of mining areas.
At the site, all participants worked in division of labor, orderly completing various procedures such as sapling transportation, seedling uprighting, soil filling, water pit enclosure and irrigating. The scene was well-organized and the atmosphere was lively. Participants shared experience in greening protection and spread eco-protection concepts during the tree-planting, and boosted ecological vitality across mining zones through concrete actions. More than 15,000 scotchs pine saplings were planted, and neatly arranged new seedlings brought fresh green scenery to local land.
Shendong has long adhered to the development philosophy that“lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. The company has integrated ecological civilization construction into all aspects of corporate development and has steadily advanced voluntary tree planting and ecological governance in mining areas. To date, Shendong has completed ecological restoration covering 581 square kilometers, planted over 49 million trees, and increased the vegetation coverage rate in mining areas from 3% - 11% to over 64%, realizing the ecological transformation from desert to oasis. This activity has further strengthened employees’ awareness of ecological protection,and consolidated the joint efforts of enterprises and local institutions to build a green homeland. Shendong always adheres to green development concepts, consolidates safety barriers through ecological construction, and makes green a defining feature of high-quality development.
