On October 25, Xinshuo Railway successfully transferred green power certificates for the second, third and fourth quarters of 2023 with the Qinghai and Gansu branches of China Energy through the China Green Power Certificate Subscription Platform, achieving 100% green electricity consumption across its operations this year.
Actively responding to China Energy’s call for all its businesses to achieve 100 percent renewable electricity consumption, the company has designated special personnel to formulate a renewable electricity consumption work plan for 2023 to ensure the effective progression of relevant work. By means of registration at green certificate transaction platforms, approval of corporate procurement plants, signing of procurement contracts, and transfer of green power certificates, Xinshuo Railway has acquired 825,145 green power certificates issued by the National Renewable Energy Information Management Center. It is equivalent to consuming 825,145,000 kWh of green electricity and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 643,035,498.5 kg, sulfur dioxide by 387,818.15 kg, and nitrogen oxides by 354,812.35 kg, which effectively promoted the consumption and utilization of renewable energy and plays a significant role in building a safe, clean, low-carbon and efficient energy system.
Through achieving 100% green electricity consumption, the company has established its brand image characterized by green development and played an active role in promoting the whole society to improve the awareness of green power consumption, facilitating the green and low-carbon transformation of energy consumption, and contributing to the “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goals.
