On July 13, after nearly a week of commissioning, the first hazardous mining gas mobile detection robot “Explorer” equipped with the MineHarmony OS in China was officially put into operation at gas exhaust shaft 52506 of Shendong Daliuta Mine. The robot replaces personnel in inspecting hazardous areas, and improves the detection and analysis capabilities of gas concentrations in hazardous underground operation areas of Daliuta Mine.

Equipped with MineHarmony distributed cluster control and management techniques, “Explorer” is capable of planning its motion autonomously, obtaining data of underground environment and its operation status, and gathering, analyzing, tapping into and processing the data. The built-in LiDAR, methane tele-sensor, camera and mining sensors enable the determination of methane accumulation area in underground drifts, and monitoring of methane concentration, temperature, humidity and dust concentration of drift walls and cables.
