Baotou Coal to Olefin project of Shenhua Group was approved by NDRC

Shenhua Group’s coal to olefin project in Baotou has got the approval from NDRC on December 11th, 2006. The project is the only coal to olefin program approved by NDRC so far.

Shenhua Baotou Coal to Olefin program adopts the world’s leading clean technology of converting coal to olefin and other chemical products, which is compatible with the national energy development strategy and industry policies. It is vital project in optimizing the structure of national energy consumption, improving the utilization rate of energy, reducing the environment pollution and securing the national energy safety. The program is expected to complete the construction at the end of 2009 and produce eligible products at Oct, 2010.
