Government Approval on the Open-cut Project of Ha’erwusu Coal Mine

Beijing-25, Nov 2005 The project of Ha’erwusu open-cut coal mine has been confirmed by and registered with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently.

Ha’erwusu open-cut coal mine is located in the Zhunge’er Coalfield and adjacent to Heidaigou mine. The coal transportation of Ha’erwusu mine is also via Dazhun Rail Line, which is one part of our dedicated rail systems. The mine is wholly owned and developed by China Shenhua Energy. The estimated probable reserves are approximately 1.585 billion tones under China national standard. The coal characteristics of the mine are favorable for power generation. The designed capacity is 20 million tones per year. Now, the company is preparing the project construction, including the construction of the open pit, processing plant and anti-flood dam.
