Shenhua Energy Company Limited ("CSEC") is the leading
integrated coal-based energy company focusing on the coal

We are the second largest publicly listed coal company in
the world as measured by proved and probable reserves as of
31 December 2006 and are the second largest publicly listed
coal saler in the world as measured by our 2006 coal sales

CSEC owns dedicated
rail lines and ports. We are the only coal-based energy company
in China that owns and operates a large-scale integrated coal
transportation network, which consists of dedicated rail lines
and port facilities. We control one of the two primary dedicated
eastbound coal freight rail lines in China, which not only
helps solve the bottleneck of transportation facing all coal
companies in china, but also provides us with great synergy
as well as transportation cost advantage. CSEC also has a
sizeable and rapidly growing power generation business, which
is complementary to our coal business and develops harmoniously
with it.
